This may not look like your typical pancake and that’s because it’s not. You won’t be able to order this off the menu at IHOP. But if you want a protein packed pancake that’s easy to make and will titilate your taste buds, then here’s a look at what I whipped up.

While this has A LOT of protein, it is calorie dense…and you can skip the all natural syrup I used if you want to, depending on your fitness goals but I bellieve in balance. Eating healthy and making it bearable at the same time! I’m not a nutritionist, a certified personal trainer …just a woman on a journey to be in the best shape of her life, on the inside and out.

This won’t taste like the buttery mouth watering pancakes you’ll find at your local breastfast eatery. However, my pancake concotion won’t leave you feeling overstuffed and sluggish afterwards. That’s because it’s built for energy and to keep you full, and give you some satisfaction that you got to eat a pancake!

I realize my picture doesn’t look the prettiest, but I promise you if you give it a shot, you may just get addicted to these …

The recipe is fairly simple. I posted a picture of what it looks like made, but here’s what you’ll need

Ingredients:

3 Organic Eggs (buy local. It helps our local economy and you know what you’re getting) Make sure you leave out the yolk, so this is the equivalent to 3 egg whites.

Mix the egg whites with your protein powder of choice. Today I used Greenlife Labs Fit 4 Her Protein Powder in chocolate! This is protein powder which is packed with chia seeds is specifically designed for women trying to shed weight and build muscle. I have tried a ton of different protein powders and I can say so far this is may favorite! One scoop has 16 grams of protein and is only 120 calories. If you want to try it out and decide to purchase it, make sure you use my personal discount code so you can knock off some money on that dollar price! Just type in FITCHICK for 10% off.

After you mix those two ingredients, thrown in some blueberries (a handful) for taste.

Throw these ingredients into a saucepan on Medium with a teaspoon of coconut oil (only use EXTRA VIRGIN) when cooking with coconut by the way!

This pancake will solidfy quickly! Make sure you watch it and flip it frequently.

Now for the magical ingredients that make this protein pancake moist. Sometimes I add a tiny scoop of peanut butter or almond butter for added protein but today I used something new. It’s called Macadamia Cacao Cherry (low in carbs, high in fat btw). I spread about half a tablespoon of this on top of my pancake and then added 1 tablespoon of “Land of Joseph” all natural maple syrup.

If you’re interestd in counting calories (I’m not), I added it up for you. It’s roughly about a 300 calorie pankcake that has nearly 30 grams of protein in it!!!!

Try it out and let me know what you think! All the ingredients, except Fit 4 Her can be purchased at Whole Foods. I typically use only organic ingredients when I can.

Bon Appetit!
